In 1990 the pop group Salt-N-Pepa released their hit “Let’s Talk About Sex Baby”. It was a fun song that lots of us loved to dance to. It is now 2015, and many of the kids who danced along with Salt-N-Pepa are parents, and they are TERRIFIED by the thought that at some point in the not too distant future they will have to talk about sex with their teens
Fear not. Our guest on this week’s ParentCast can help.
Holli Kenley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, currently works in the field of psychology as an author, educator, and workshop presenter. Formerly from the Southern California area, she practiced for ten years in a counseling center before moving into private practice. Spending much of her time working in the areas of abuse, trauma, betrayal, and cyber bullying, Holli is the author of five books.
Holli’s most recent full-length publication – Another Way – was released March 2015. At first glance it might seem like a book that is only concerned with the question “should these teens have sex or not.” But one only needs to look a little bit deeper to see that there is much more to the book and to Holli’s message.
